Cherries and Chickens

Here’s a (very ordinary) pic of my other piece of redwork to go with the donkey for the swap.  As my partner loves cherries, I just made this one a simple design with cherries and grapes, again ironed on from a Vogart pattern (yeah call me lazy).  Not my best work this one, as I was virtually sitting in the dark as HP had a headache, and we were in the lounge room in the dim light.  So off they go, I hope she likes them.

Something I’ve been tinkering with this afternoon, is some drawings of embroidery designs.  In the mail this morning I got an e-bayed Vogart colour chart – as you can see from the photo, they have little details and small pics of their various designs and lists of colour thread to use.  I think you got these charts for free from the retailer when you bought some traced linen pieces.  Anyway, as the pics are too little to scan usefully, I’ve hand drawn a couple of the chicken pillowcases (of course!) to see if they’d be okay to stitch.

I’ll scan and blog them on Stitchy Britches  later… here’s a WIP pic.  Any opinions?

  1. I wish I could draw, your chicken is great. My embroidery pattern idea is dead in the water I think. And the cherries are great. You should really consider getting one of those headlamps. It’ll make you look like a dork but it means HP can be in the dim room while you sit there with your beam of light.
